The police in Toén have arrested the former boyfriend of Laura Alonso, the 19 year old girl who had been missing for one week and whose body was found on Saturday evening.
The detainee is 32 year old J.C.G., also a resident of Toén. He had been interviewed several times following the disappearance of Laura but has now been charged in connection with her death.
Hundreds of people marched in silence through the streets of Toén at the weekend in honour of the dead girl and the Mayor, Amancio Antonio Cid, declared three days of official mourning.
Laura disappeared in the early hours of last Sunday morning after a night out. A search of the area located her mobile phone, without battery or card, her car parked on a road she seldom used and then some time later, her jacket was found in a totally different area.
