Solar panels, sixty-one of them, to be installed at the covered sports pavillion and indoor swimming pool should result in enery savings of around 30% according to the Councilor for Sports, Andrés Márquez.
The project has a budget of €66,568 and involves the placement of the latest, state of the art panels for these types of facilities. The project is being funded by FEIL and the panels will heat the water for both the indoor pool and the spa.
The Council currently spends around €5,000 per month on fuel. In addition to the cost savings, the solar panels will also help the environment.
