The Town Hall in Mijas is warning traders in the area of an apparent fraud being perpetrated in connection with a street map and associated advertising.
It appears that traders are being informed that they will only have to pay 20% of the cost of placing an advertisement on the proposed street map, the Council funding the remainder through a grant. The Council points out that this is ‘completely false’ and they are in no way involved in any such enterprise.
The fraud has been taking place principally in the Las Lagunas area and the Local Police are trying to trace the culprits.
