Busy day at sea

The Marine Rescue Service were busy yesterday off the coast of Almería, intercepting six boats carrying a total of 86 illegal immigrants, most from North Africa.

There were boats of all shapes and sizes, even one man making a solo journey across the Mediterranean in a rubber dinghy.

Red Cross officials were on hand to provide food, warm clothing, blankets, shoes, hot drinks and water to the new arrivals.
