Torrox Council is continuing to press for the installation of breakwaters to prevent erosion of Ferrara Playa and has sent another letter to the provincial Department of Coasts.
An extensive, €1.5 million redevelopment project is underway at Ferrara Playa and the Council does not want to hear suggestions about moving the promenade or making alterations but wants to see the installation of semi-submerged breakwaters to resolve the age old problem of erosion.
The beach is currently in good shape as sand stocks were replenished at Easter and just before the summer.
