The number of illegal immigrants arriving in Spain has decreased by almost 50% in the past year.
Andalucía, however, has shown a slight increase in immigrant arrivals although the numbers are down on two years ago.
Spain is the third most popular destination for illegal immigrants within the EU yet only comprises 9% of the total. Greece currently receives the most illegal immigrants, the country having witnessed a 47% increase in such activity in the past year.
