In the next few months, Torrox Council will initiate proceedings to exhume the remains from two Civil War mass graves in the town.
Torrox becomes the second municipality in the Axarquia, after Alfarnatejo, to carry out such exhumations. The request for exhumation was made by a family in the area during the second Conference of Historical Memory held in the town last weekend.
The Council is requesting financial aid for the operation to cover the cost of the technical equipment needed to locate the graves.
