World number two Rafael Nadal is out of the ATP World Tour Finals at the first hurdle after suffering a second defeat, this time at the hands of Nikolay Davydenko.
Davydenko won the encounter 6-1 7-6 (7-4) and could join Soderling in the last four if he beats the Swede on Friday.
Nadal hasn’t won a set yet after two matches, and he fails to reach the semi-finals for the first time in his three appearances at the season-ending tournament.
