The latest DGT road safety ‘campaign’ is now underway and between now and December 20th, some 300,000 alcohol controls will be carried out on motorists.
The campaign stresses that one in three accidents occur as the result of reckless drivers ingesting alcohol and the consumption of alcohol raises the chance of involvement in an accident by a factor of nine.
This is a time of year when general alcohol consumption tends to increase.
