Alhaurín el Grande reduces cost of opening licences

Alhaurín el Grande Council has adopted a new amendment to allow a tax rebate of up to 50% of the licence fee for new businesses in the municipality.

The aim is to encourage the creation of new businesses and those in the centre and on the industrial estate will be eligible for a tax rebate of 50%. Businesses in other areas of the municipality will receive a 25% tax rebate.

The amendment also reduces the minimum fee for starting a new business from €200 to €100.

The amendment was supported by the opposition PSOE, although they criticised the general tax policy of the Council as being of less help to the average citizen. The IU abstained, claiming the new measure did not distinguish between the different types of business and applied equally to a small business, supermarket or bank.
