Snow in many parts of Andalucia

The temperature has plunged by as much as en degrees in most of Andalucia and snow has fallen in many areas.

The snowploughs have been out in much of Jaén province, most notably on the road between Huelma and Cambil, in the Sierra Mágina, Las Palomas, Cazorla, Tiscar de Quesada and Beas de Segura. Chains are obligatory on the road between Hornos and Santiago de la Espada.

In Granada, the Sierra Nevadas have had a good deal of snow and the A-337 near Ferreira had to be closed this morning.

Up to eight centimetres of snow has fallen in Nacimiento, Campo de Tabernas, Valle del  Almanzora and Los Vélez in Almeria province.

In Mâlaga province, there is snow in and around Archidona and Antequera.

Heavy snows are expected in Madrid, Cataluña, Aragón, Castilla-La Mancha, Comunidad Valenciana and Murcia.
