According to a survey by the Consumers Union of Andalucía, people are likely to spend around 20% less on Christmas celebrations this year but more on the various lotteries.
Spending on Christmas gifts, excluding toys, is expected to be around €120 per person. The Christmas food bill is expected to be around 18% less than last year with many people shopping around for bargains.
Recommendations from the UCE for an economical Christmas include:
- Don’t leave shopping until the last moment
- Make a list and stick to it
- Do not use credit cards, only cash
- Consider gift vouchers for the post Christmas sales
