Four new bus routes to serve new residential areas in Rincón de la Victoria will come into operation in January 2010.
The news was confirmed by the Councillor for Transport, Antonio Sánchez, at the same time as the announcement that the contract for urban bus services has been awarded to the company Rinconbus.
The new routes will cover, amongst others, Parque Victoria, Lo Cea, Cementerio Municipal, Añoreta and Huerta Julián.
New initiatives include free bus tickets for retirees and pensioners and for users of the Escuelas de Adultos and Escuelas Deportivas Municipales.
Ticket prices have been raised from €0.90 to €1.20 but a new strip system of ten or more tickets will see a price of €0.70.
