The appearance of bogus gas inspectors is a regular occurrence all over the place, these fraudsters preying mainly on unwary foreigners and the elderly. Now, with the advent of TDT (Terrestrial Digital Television), another opportunity to fleece the unwary has emerged.
There are fraudsters going around offering to install TDT receivers in preparation for the termination of the analogue system and they are, in some cases, charging €300 for a TDT box valued at €30. A healthy profit.
As with gas inspectors and, in fact, with any unsolicited calls at your door, DO NOT LET THEM IN, however genuine they may look or however persistent they are.
