The Ministry of Culture of the Junta de Andalucía has invested €67,000 in a project to stabilise the old Salazar Moorish watchtower in Totalán.
The project included work to stop further corrosion of the walls of the tower as well as the introduction of steel staples to reinforce certain areas. Some crumbling debris was also removed.
Although still a ruin, it is now a stable ruin.
