With one confirmation pending, a total of 13 people lost their lives in Andalucia during 2009 as a result of domestic violence, 5 more than during 2008.
In only one case had there been a prior complaint for abuse and only one case involved a foreigner. Jaén and Cádiz were the only provinces where no such deaths occurred.
