Top two both draw

La Liga leaders Barcelona began well against Villarreal, Pedro finding the net after just seven minutes, but it wasn’t to continue.

Shortly after the start of the second half, Fuster equalised for Villarreal and they held on valiantly to end up sharing the points.

Real Madrid could have gone top with a win at Osasuna, but they failed to seize the opportunity as they played out a 0-0 draw.

Valencia have moved up to third after a last gasp victory over Espanyol, Zigic the scorer, and Mallorca have moved up into the Champions League spots after beating Athletic Bilbao 2-0.

The Blue and Whites are still in the bottom three  after a 2-2 draw with Sporting. Twice in front through Duda and Weligton, Málaga were pegged back each time with goals from Gregory and Canella.

Meanwhile, down in the Primera Andaluza Grupo 3, CD Nerja drew 2-2 on their trip to Atlético Marbelli and remain in eighth place in the division.

Alhaurin de la Torre remain on top after a 0-5 win over Atletico Benamiel. CD Martos stay in second place after a disappointing 0-0 draw at home to Úbeda Viva.
