Police in Chiclana de la Frontera have arrested a 33 year old man as the alleged perpetrator of a sexual assault against a minor.
The incident occurred last November, the young girl reporting that she had been sexually assaulted by a man she had met via the internet.
An investigation revealed that the man met his victim via a social network and maintained contact through emails. The man was able to gain the confidence of the girl and obtained details of her personal life which he then used to force her to meet him, threatening to disclose the information if she refused.
They met and he drove her to an area of open ground where he once again threatened to disclose certain information to her friends and family if she did not cooperate. When she continued to refuse his advances, the man physically forced himself upon her.
The man is in custody awaiting trial and police are analysing two computers seized at his home to determine whether there are other victims.
