A woman died and her sister was seriously injured this morning in a fire at their home in calle Feria in the town of Benamejí, Córdoba.
The fire was first reported at 06:25 this morning. The sister, aged 69 years, was taken to the Hospital de Cabra where she was treated for first degree burns and smoke inhalation.
Her condition is said not to be life-threatening. An investigation into the cause of the fire has been opened by the Guardia Civil.
