Torrox Council has already earmarked a number of projects to be carried out under the Second State Plan for Local Investment (Plan Zapatero II) with the total value amounting to €1.8 million.
Major projects include the installation of underground rubbish containers at a dozen locations in both Torrox Pueblo and Torrox Costa (€500,000) and development of the new sports complex in Los Llanos (€200,000).
Other projects include improvements to sanitation in calles Pontil, Chorrillo and Baja in Torrox Pueblo and calles Marbella, Mijas and Estepona in Torrox Costa. There will also be improvements to the Colina del Sol, Mare Nostrum and Los Llanos schools.
Money will also be set aside to upgrade the municipal computers.
