The planned new school in the Parque Victoria in La Cala del Moral is a step closer after 74 companies have submitted tenders for the project.
The project envisages a Centre for Infant and Primary Education (CEIP) and, on an adjoining plot, a new Secondary School (IES). The budget for the works is €5,201,455.11 and the completion period has been set at 12 months, although it will be carried out in phases.
The project has already suffered long delays, necessitating the use of prefabricated classrooms in Llano de Baluma.
The new school will be Type 3, three groups for each level of infant and primary, with a capacity for 675 school places. The first phase will be the construction of a classroom for infants along with a library, administrative area, dining room and kitchen.
The second phase will include the construction of primary classrooms, computer room, music room, multipurpose room and resources areas.
Eventually, there will be a total of 18 classrooms plus sports areas, gardens and parking areas.
