The perennial shifting sands

The Department of Coasts will begin this week with the regular sand-shifting to try and get the beaches of Rincôn de la Victoria in good shape for Easter after the severe storms of the past couple of months.

Work will start on La Gaviota beach in Los Rubios and continue through Torre de Benagalbón, Rincón de la Victoria and La Cala del Moral, a total of eight kilometres of beach.

The whole process of levelling the areas and replacing the sand is expected to take about ten days. After the cleaning is finished, various new equipment, such as showers for the disabled and street furniture, will be installed in several areas.
