The new Terminal 3 (T3) at Málaga airport is due to be inaugurated by King Juan Carlos on Monday March 15th and will begin operating on Tuesday March 16th.
The new terminal covers an area of 250,000 square metres and will increase the capacity of the airport to 600 flights per day. There are 86 check-in desks and 797 flight monitors.
On Tuesday, there are 194 scheduled flights and 136 will be using the new terminal. During the summer, T2 and T2 will handle 50% each.
The new terminal will, in the main, be for flights to the EU Schengen territories.
