Torrox Council has taken delivery of a new beach-cleaning tractor as it gears up for the Easter holidays.
The machine cost €120,000 and was financed by the Council, the Commonwealth of Municipalities of the Costa del Sol-Axarquia and the Ministry of Tourism, Trade and Sports of the Junta de Andalucia. Takes a lot of people to buy a tractor. The Council’s contribution was €48,000.
The new machine replaces the old equipment belonging to the Council, equipment which lasted almost a decade.
The Council reports that the municipality’s beaches are almost ready for Easter and, for the first time in five years, it has not been necessary to replenish the sand.
