Rain didn’t stop the holding of the VII Fiesta del Campo in Benamargosa and around 4,000 visitors arrived to sample a variety of local dishes and enjoy the entertainment.
At midday snacks – batycate, zoque, guacamole, ensaladilla cateta, tomates, callos, ajo-bacalao, ensalada de aguacate and pan con aceite – accompanied by entertainment it was time for paella down by the Río Benamargosa.
In the afternoon there was the presentation of various awards. The Provincial Delegate for the Environment was rewarded for his involvement with the municipality, the Sociedad Cooperativa Agrolimón were rewarded for their contribution to local industry, José Sánchez Luque and Antonio Reina Rendón received recognition for the social work within the community and a posthumous award for professionalism in the field was awarded to Manuel Pérez.
