100 poisoned at school in Morón de la Frontera

The Junta de Andalucia has closed the dining area at the Luis Hernández Ledesma school in Morón de la Frontera, Sevilla, after over one hundrid pupils became ill.

Three children have been admitted to hospital with gastroenteritis and a further 90 have needed medical treatment. An investigation has been opened into the source of the problem.

The water supply to the school has been tested and appears not to be the cause of the problem. One anomaly is that not all of those children who became ill had eaten in the dining area. A number of tests are being carried out and the results are expected next week, until then the dining area remains closed.
