The Mayor of Nerja takes over the presidency of the company Televisión Digital Terrestre Axarquía-Almijara S.A. on Friday as required by statute. The previous holder of the post was the Mayor of Torrox.
The Councillor for New Technologies, Andrés Márquez, has announced that the company intends to launch television broadcasts by the end of the year.
Agreements have to be reached with other private television channels in order to avoid interference with signals.
Televisión Digital Terrestre Axarquía-Almijara S.A. originally included the municipalities of Torrox, Nerja and Frigiliana, but Frigiliana decided not to join the project.
