Police dismantle cannabis plantation in Benalmádena

Local Police officers in Benalmádena have dismantled a cannabis plantation, seizing over one hundred plants during the operation and arresting one person, an Italian national.

The investigation began after neighbours complained of a ‘strong smell’ from the premises, the tenant of which was an Italian national.

An initial visual observation of the property, with a complex ventilation system, automatic sprinkler system and artificial lights led the police to investigate further. They then discovered over one hundred plants as well as various chemicals used in the processing of the drug.

Police are now trying to determine whether the site has links with other municipalities.
