Escape from police cells

A seventh youth arrested in connection with the maltreatment of a bull during festivities in Alhaurín el Grande has managed to escape from jail and is now on the run.

Originally, six youths were detained in connection with the beating and teasing of a young bull during celebrations in Alhaurín el Grande, the youths having been identified from video footage of the incident. The six were subsequently released on bail after appearing in court.

However, police were still looking for a seventh individual and last Tuesday they caught him. The youth, a North African who was illegally in Spain, spent the night in the cells but at some time during the next day managed to escape through a ventilation window.

How he managed to do it is still unknown. The small window was over two metres from the ground and the individual was only 1m 65cm tall, adding more mystery to the situation. It is also not known exactly when the youth made his escape.
