A 36-year-old Italian national has been arrested after he tried unsuccessfully to rob a branch of the Caja Rural in Matalascañas, Huelva.
The man entered the bank at 09:00 when only the manager was present and asked to change €400 into coins. When the manager was about to get the money from the safe, the hapless robber put a balaclava on his head (a bit late!) and pointed a (fake) gun at his head.
A passing postman heard the commotion and alerted the Guardia Civil who promptly arrived on the scene.
