Win for Real, draws for Barca and Málaga and a loss for Nerja

Real Madrid moved up to third place in La Liga after a dominant display against Deportivo, emerging as 6-1 winners.

Cristiano Ronaldo gave them them the perfect start, putting them ahead after just four minutes. Özil, Di María and Higuaín added three more before Deportivo’s Ze Castro decided to get in on the act. Unfortunately, his goal was in the wrong net and Real were then 5-0 up after one hour’s play.

Juan Rodríguez did manage to put one in the right net but Ronaldo then grabbed his second of the night to make the final score 6-1.

Barcelona are fourth after a 1-1 draw against Mallorca. Messi gave Barca the lead after 21 minutes but just before half time, Nsue scored for the visitors and that’s how it stayed until the final whistle.

The Blue and Whites travelled to Almeria where they ended up sharing the points, Quincy giving Málaga the lead at the beginning of the second half and Kalu Uchi evening things up again. Once again the Blue and Whites finished the match with only ten men.

Sevilla had a reasonably comfortable 3-1 win over Atlético Madrid and are now fifth in the table. Goals from Negredo and Perotti in the first half and Kanouté early in the second put Sevilla in the driving seat before Diego Costa pulled one back for the visitors.

Villarreal, second in La Liga, kept up their good start to the season with a 2-0 win over Racing Santander, Nilmar and Rossi doing the damage during the first thirteen minutes of the match.

CD Nerja slip to 12th place in the Primera Andaluza Grupo 3 after a 1-3 loss against Atletic0 Marbelli.
