Our new field is to be used as an exercise yard but also as the setting for our therapeutic riding sessions for children with disabilities. Unfortunately the field is covered in stones which will get caught in hooves.

We need helpers to come and help clear the field. If everyone moves just five stones it will make a huge difference and we can get our expanded therapy programme up and running.

The Nerja Donkey Sanctuary (charity no. 7502) has been running for more than six years and in that time has rescued and cared for hundreds of equines. For the last two years we have been running a disabled riding programme which we provide free of charge to children in need.

We run this with physiotherapists from the Taller de la Amistad and we are delighted to announce the addition of another charity AMET who are experts in horse assisted therapy.

Opening the field is just the start we hope to raise enough money to create a riding school area with disabled access and an isolation pen for any newly rescued donkeys.
