Preliminary investigations into the death of a woman whose body was found at her home in the isolated Fuente Nueva area of El Ejido in Almería province suggest she died from smoke inhalation.
The body was discovered on Saturday morning by police and firefighters but the fact that the house had already cooled by the time they arrived suggests that the fire took place the night before.
