Cars buried by landslide in Carmona, Sevilla

A landslide in Carmona, Sevilla province, on Saturday afternoon buried eight cars under about six metres of mud.

Initial reports were that some people had heard a radio inside one of the buried cars and police with dogs are still busy today checking the area. So far, though, there are no reports of any injuries. It is thought likely that the radio was activated through an electrical short circuit.

The landslide occurred at 14:30 and is presumed to have been caused by the torrential rains.
