Málaga back to losing ways

Getafe were 1-0 winners against third placed Villarreal, despite playing most of the second half with ten men after Cata Díaz was given his marching orders and then with nine men after goalscorer Albín got a little carried away with his celebrations just before the end.

Goals from David Villa and Iniesta were enough to see Barcelona overcome Real Sociedad by two goals to nil, while Real Madrid were 1-3 winners at Zaragoza.

Özil gave Real the lead with his first goal for the club and Ronaldo and Di Maria added two more before Gabi got one back from the penalty spot for Zaragoza.

Málaga. Well. The Blue and Whites converted an early lead against Hércules, a twelfth minute goal by Fernández,  into a 4-1 defeat which drops them back into the bottom three.
