A fifth place finish in the final stage was enough to give Spaniard Marc Coma victory in the motorcycle category of the 2011 Dakar rally.
The final stage was won by Dutchman Frans Verhoeven on a BMW with Portugal’s Helder Rodrigues (Yamaha) in second position, Brazilian Jean De Azevedo (KTM) in third and Frenchman Cyril Despres in fourth.
This was Marc Coma’s third Dakar win.
