The Nerja Green party estimates that around 800 people took part in the march yesterday, with a large percentage of foreign residents actively participating.
The march to demand a sewage plant for Nerja was the largest such demonstration for 25 years.
The Nerja Greens expressed surprise that their decision to instigate the demonstration was greeted with accusations of electioneering by the main parties.
