A 39 year old man has been arrested in Vélez-Málaga for allegedly locking his wife in the family home for several hours on Tuesday evening.
At around 23:30 on Tuesday evening, a woman called the Local Police to say that she had been locked in her house by her husband. When police arrived on the scene the woman was crying and showing signs of great anxiety.
The woman told the police that she had been locked in the house, located in calle Almendro, for several hours. Unable to gain entry, the police went in search of the husband who, according to his wife, was probably at a house in the La Gloria district. Firemen accompanied the police in case a forced entry proved to be necessary.
The husband was eventually located and agreed to open the door to allow access to the distraught woman. The husband, 39 year old J.A.C.P. was then arrested and taken to the Health Centre in Torre del Mar.
The woman was taken to hospital for a medical check. The National Police are now investigating the incident.
