The death toll in Lorca as a result of the terrible earthquakes has risen to nine after a woman admitted to the hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca in Murcia in a critical condition died from her injuries.
A total of 324 people needed medical attention, of which 49 were transferred to hospital. Seventeen of those people remain hospitalised. Three of the injured are in a serious condition.
Of the 17 people in hospital, twoare in the hospital Morales Meseguer, four in the hospital Reina Sofía, five in the hospital Comarcal de Caravaca de la Cruz, six in the hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca and one in the hospital Torrecárdenas in Almería.
Of the 542 buildings inspected so far, 44 percent have been passed as OK and have been marked with a green circle to indicate “you can enter”, 39 percent are marked with “yellow” meaning access only permitted to collect furniture, and the remaining 17 percent have a red circle meaning ‘access prohibited’.
