A young girl died at her home in Noia, A Coruña, on Friday evening after being brutally stabbed.
The girl, just 19 years old, was found still alive by her brother at their home in calle Galicia but tragically succumbed to her injuries. She had been brutally and violently stabbed, with deep wounds all over her body.
A young boy, her brother, is thought to have been in the house at the time and may have witnessed the brutal assault.
Although the police are pursuing several lines of inquiry into the incident, initial reports suggest the involvement of a 30 year old man with whom the girl had maintained a relationship but recently ended.
If this is found to be a case of domestic violence, it would be the first such case in Galicia so far this year.
