A 16 year old girl died this morning in the Hospital San Agustín in Linares, Jaén, after being struck by lightning on Sunday evening.
The incident occurred at 19:20 on Sunday evening on a farm between Navas and Santisteban del Puerto, an area known as ‘Sagastina’.
The girl was taken immediately to the Health Centre and then to the hospital in Linares where, early this morning, she died. Election celebrations in the town were cancelled as a mark of respect.
