A 40 year old man is in a very serious condition after jumping into a pond to rescue his young daughter who had gone into the pond to rescue her dog.
The girl, aged 11 years, was trying to retrieve her dog from a pond between Guardias Viejas and the road to Adra in Cuatro Vientos, Matagorda. Her father, with the assistance of another man, attempted to rescue the girl and as a result, both were injured.
The young girl was also treated for minor injuries. Her mother required treatment for an anxiety attack.
