Police and customs officers have seized a total of 3,556 kilos of hashish being transported from Morocco to Spain on board two yachts.
Operation ‘Glock’ involved numerous naval boats and planes and was centred on the area between Isla Cristina andy El Terrón. After several chases, the yacht ‘Ana Doce’ was finally intercepted after it took refuge in the Isla Cristina shipyards. On board police found 1,658 kilos of hashish.
The second yacht, the ‘July’, was intercepted near El Rompido Marina. Hidden under a false bottom on the boat was 1,898 kilos of drugs.
Three people were arrested in the operation, the two crew of the yacht ‘July’ and another man working at the Isla Cristina shipyard . The detainees are 41 year old C.F.G. from Isla Cristina, 32 year old J.R.J. from Sanlúcar de Barrameda (Cádiz) and 36 year old D.L.G. from Cádiz. All have been charged with crimes against the public health.
