Proposed changes to General Advertising Act

The Government is proposing an amendment to the General Advertising Act to prohibit the publication in the media, both digital and printed, of advertisements for sexual services and relating to establishments dedicated to prostitution.

The proposal includes banning advertisements for prostitution in digital media where access is not restricted to adults.

The Government argues that a breach of the General Advertising Act in this respect would be considered a violation of the provisions of the General Law for the Protection of Consumers and Users and the General Health Law.

Haven’t they got better things to do, such as regenerating the economy, reducing employment, controlling public spending…….Obviously not.
