A young man has been arrested in Bilbao after he killed one person and wounded another six after going on a stabbing spree.
The man, a foreign national, was apparently close to the Santutxu subway station in calle Zabalbide when he began stabbing passers by. Locals tried to stop him but he ran into a local bar where he stabbed several people including a 65 year old man who later died from his wounds.
Customers in the bar eventually managed to subdue him until the National Police arrived on the scene. Two of the wounded needed hospitalisation as did a seventh person who suffered a nervous breakdown.
