A hard-fought match against Getafe saw Barcelona fail to capitalise on their early domination at the Colloseum Alfonso Perez and suffering the consequences, going a goal down after a Getafe counter attack, Valera the scorer. The defeat leaves Barcelona six points adrift of Real Madrid in La Liga.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, had a fairly comfortable 4-1 win against Atletico Madrid, Ronaldo with two penalties, Higuaín and Di Maria the scorers for the home side, Adrian the scorer for Atletico.
Real did have to come from a goal behind, and there were two penalties, and Atletico were down to nine men but they were just about worth the win in the end.
