After nearly two years of talks, the television channels Antena 3 and La Sexta have announced their intention to merge with the result that La Sexta will cease to exist as a legal entity.
Antena 3 proposes to submit the merger at their next annual general meeting, probably March 2012. The execution of the merger and various additional agreements, such as share transfers, is, however, subject to obtaining the necessary approvals from regulatory bodies.
