Police in Sevilla have arrested 45 year old Cuban national E.A.A., already banned from re-entering France and the subject of a deportation order from Spain since 2010, for beating and attempting to strangle his former partner in front of their 21 month old son.
Police were called to a disturbance at a home in the La Palmilla district of Sevilla where they found a 30 year old woman, also Cuban, who showed signs of having been beaten.
The woman then told police she had been kicked a number of times and then her former partner had tried to strangle her with a handkerchief before departing, taking with him her documentation and keys.
Police located the man in calle Sánchez Perrier in the Macarena district of the city and proceeded to arrest him on charges of violence within the family.
The detainee is also being investigated in connection with a homicide in August 2009 and an expulsion order from March 2010.
