On Wednesday, Guardia Civil officers intercepted a boat off the coast of Torre del Mar, Vélez-Malaga, and seized 221 kilos of hashish.
The boat was spotted about 36 miles off the coast at Torre del Mar by a Guardia Civil helicopter. Upon being spotted, the three occupants of the boat began heaving cargo overboard.
A patrol bo0at was sent to intercept the boat, an eight metre inflatable with two engines, and when they got there they found seven bales of hashish, about 221 kilos, still on the vessel.
The three occupants, all Moroccans of no fixed abode, were detained and charged with crimes against the public health.
