Two dogs, Simba and Nala, are being hailed as heroes after waking all the members of a family after fire broke out in their home, one dog taking care of waking people downstairs, the other concentrating on the upstairs.
The fire broke out just after midnight at a house in Granada and the dogs barked and scratched on doors to wake all the occupants, including children.
As a result of their exploits, no-one was injured although Simba suffered smoke inhalation and partial paralysis. The good news, though, is that Simba is recovering.
